MMR system?

Postby Proc » 12 Jun 2012, 22:23

Will they be implementing an MMR system? It would be so nice. It is super fun to see your ranking go up, also it would greatly discourage leavers if they knew they would lose ranking if they left. Anyone have an answer?

Battle Points.

That's your answer, methinks.

Battle Points are experience, MMR is a ranking.

My point is that I'm not sure Valve will go with an MMR now that the Battle Points system is in place.

To balance the teams by battle points in matchmaking would be "the worst idea ever".

That is true. That made me laugh thinking about if that did happen

There is already a ranking statistic that is used for that reason but it's kept secret, in the past you could see it in the console by executing a command but not anymore.

If you were in the dev forums a few months ago you would've seen that valve did apply a matchmaking system that is hidden on the naked eye at the moment. But it's a stable system it is working correctly yet you do get unlucky sometimes, tend to get people less experienced in games. But most of the times it's stable.

I was about to post about this. If you guys go to your profile in Dota 2 and go to "Heroes Played" It says right under Performance "Your performance bar shows how well you've played each hero compared to other players at your skill level. It is not based on your wins and losses.".

I am thinking the que puts you up with people that have same wins or losses as you do or maybe your win and loss ratio is equal to there's. Just guessing

I just want to visibly see it so I can know I'm making progress. I am not a fan of HoN really, but the way they do the MMR system is really good. I think Dota should do something along those lines.
