Razer Naga Hex?

Postby WiLLiTBLEND? » 06 Feb 2012, 13:07

anyone here a fan of razer and use the Razer Mouse for DotA? Did you get better at playing when you have these? just curious though it seems a really cool mouse to have, but Im wondering how these kind of mouses usually last (quality)? Laser mouse breaks more often for me because I slam it like a maniac

Unfortunately, if this mouse comes out I cant buy one since I havent done online delivery before and scared to do one :|

EDIT: will be out in Feb 13 btw

Im not a fan of razer but I have a razer lachesis mouse and piranha headset.
I'll be entirely honest with you, the mice are not worth the money and you won't see any difference in your performance. I have had the lachesis for about 5 years and it still is fine.
I consider all of those mice with numerous buttons useless, you cannot use those side buttons and move the mouse simultaneously because of your index finger lifting off the mouse therefore not being able to move it.
And what are you scared of lol ?

I have the Death Adder Black edition mouse and a Black Widdow ultimate keyboard. The keyboard is rly nice, and it works perfectly. I like the mechanical buttons . The touch is so crisp. But the mouse - oh dear, I bought it , and then realized that there is 2 different kind of mouse grips - Palm grip and a Claw grip. Mine is a Claw one, and the mouse I bought is for people who use Palm one. It is also too heavy for me, altho the mouse is much lighter that any other high end mice, it is still too heavy for me. That's why I gave it to my girlfriend and for me I have my good old logitech , that i bought 9 years ago for about $10 and still works beautifully. It's been opened once to clear the scroll wheel, but in total is a great cheap and light, claw gripping mouse. Don;t get me wrong- The razer is brilliant too , but It is not for me. Also as Bambi said i also experienced the problem when u have to use ur thumb to press the extra buttons - unless u have a palm grip, with a Claw one its impossible to do it properly and fast. That;'s why i Have the razer keyboard that I can set up any button I want to do anything i want. Its so nice.

Sorry but the Death Adder is the same like mine, probably different Colour. And it is Palm Grip. There is no way this large and wide mouse is a claw grip. For a claw grip u need a small and light mouse, to be able to "lock" it with ur thumb and the little finger. The death adder isnt any of those. Before I had a Cyborg RAT7 or smth like that. I used it about 2 hours, and returned it for refund. It was about 5 times heavier than a regular mouse, even when u took all the extra weights off. It was a brilliant mouse, but not for me.

Well, "Bro" :) Then your understanding of Gripping is wrong. I personally checked and the deathadder is more comfortable for a palm grip :
Kevin '*RotterdaM*' van der KooI, Warcraft III, Serious Gaming /
"Since Warcraft III games tend to go on for quite some time, I personally find it much more relaxing to use a palm mouse grip, even though during big fights I might switch to claw grip for a short amount of time which is possible with a Deathadder as well, but 98% of the time I use a palm grip which is very comfortable on a Deathadder."

• David “Zaccubus” Treacy, Unreal Tournament 3, Dignitas
“I'm a palmer. I like to get my hand around the mouse so it feels like an extension of my hand, which I feel the DeathAdder pwnz at.”

• Jonathan “raz” Baker, Call of Duty 4, Team Dignitas
“I find that when I'm holding my Razer DeathAdder, I like it to move with my hand as if it were attached. By holding the mouse with a palm grip with the fingers just laying onto the mouse buttons, I find it easier to maneuver and also tap fire, making my aim more precise and accurate.”

P.S. I just realized that there is a third kind of grip - Fingertip Grip, witch is similar to Claw grip but one contact point less. So after considering my experience, I can say that this is my prefered grip. Although when I am not playing I use the claw one, but once i start playing , especially some fast moving required game, such as dota2 ofc, I switch to fingertip. It gives u about 5 % more precision than Claw and a bout 15% than palm grips.

As I said Im also with my 8y old logitech and i am very happy with it. Light, Average size, classic looks, ideal for fingertip grip. I just checked in e-bay and the mouse is about 5-10 british pounds.
Here is the model : Logitech RX250

It's all a matter of habit, I have huge hands and long fingers so I'll have to use a claw grip no matter the size of the mouse.

For me I believe in one's own skills than better devices. I'm using Razer Goliathus mouse mat that's less than SGD$20 and Razer Abyssys Mirror Edition mouse which is SGD$59.90

I have Razer Sphex Mouse Mat too and its somehow better than goliathus but it's as thin as paper so it's uncomfortable resting my hand on the hard table (i use the claw grip too). goliathus is soft and has a very smooth surface so i like it. it's rubbery bottom also grips onto the table very well, so no worries about mouse mat sliding.

In my opinion razer abyssus is worth the price as it's very light and has a high dpi with infrared sensor. the mirror edition also looks really cool :D but if you want a mouse with programmable buttons on the sides abyssus only has the standard buttons. and i just looked at naga hex i tell you the normal naga would be much better. don't get naga epic, wireless mice are troublesome as hell and not worth the extra price. razer's mice chords are non-tangle-enough.

Sometimes I facepalm at the over-the-top nature of some of the gaming mice on the market. If you need more than 5 or 6 buttons then you aren't making use of the keyboard properly, I say :P

it's mostly used for item hotkeys, not abilities.

I am using razer nostromo and logitech revolution, and i find it pretty comfortable, since using my keyboard ( which looks like this http://asset3.cbsistatic.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2011/06/30/34830445_OVR1_1330x1000.png ) is a bit confusing :D

you can check my mapping here
http://alsoko.net/razer-nostromo-mapping-for-dota-2/

its better if you use any mouse with like 5 buttons tho, to map A and H for easier laneing
