The picture above shows what seems to be new hero icons. We can't be sure that these are legit or not, since most of them look very unfinished or WIP concept art, but we can confirm that the Bloodseeker and Yurnero icons are legitimate because we've seen them before. Nonetheless, this is certainly an exciting find as it offers us a sneak preview of the rest of the heroes! Here are our speculations on who these heroes are (from top row, left to right):

Kunkka, Ursa Warrior, Huskar, Lanaya, Phantom Assassin, Rikimaru, Juggernaut, Bloodseeker, Bone Clinkz, Skeleton King, Atropos, Rubick, Broodmother, Jakiro, Medusa, Naix.

What are your guesses?

Assuming that's the Skeleton King and not, say, Abaddon, his crown needs to look more like a crown. Kunkka could also do with a tricorne hat or something to denote his admirality (assuming that's Kunkka).

Maybe you should look at your unoriginal signature before telling me if I have any taste or not...

Besides, when did I EVER mention that I preferred LoL's graphics or the original Dota's to Dota 2? I always thought that LoL's graphics are too cartoony to my tastes, and if you were to check my posts you would understand what I mean.

I am assuming those icons got leaked by a BETA tester and I don't see why Valve would introduce such unpolished icons to the BETA client. Kunkka and Bloodseeker look believable, but as far as the other heroes go... Visage/Atropos looks more like abstract art than anything else... Brood, Jakiro and Mesuda looks just sooo crude and basic, I honestly don't see what you find appealing in them... But yet again, Huskar looks pretty cool even though he looks like he was drawn on MS-PAINT (trust me, it's doable, I've seen someone draw The Monalisa using MS-PAINT and did a better job...).

My point is I just don't think those icons are real, any one with basic modeling skills can pull off such icons. BUT YET AGAIN THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, YOU DON'T HAVE TO ACT LIKE IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD.

And are you kidding me? The game is in CLOSED BETA. I.e. If it breaks, so what? They've gotta fix it, if you think for a second that Broodmother could possibly be a finished image then, wha!??? I mean why have they got to meet any form of standards in a closed beta, sure if they were releasing this as footage, I'll hand it too you, pretty unimpressive, but it's leaked, i.e. they don't WANT people to see it, it's not ready to accept people's opinion. I simply don't see how these image's lack of quality is enough evidence to support that it's fake.
Simply put, I don't see many of these images being relevant at all because they won't be IN the final game if they're real, same if they're fake.
I'd reason that the images are kinda terrible cause they've got the heroes IN the game, but not all the artwork in place (something I'd rate pretty low when you're in the 'getting each hero to work properly' stages).

I'm not sure. I mean, some looks really legit, some others only looks like in game 3D models, like Maya's or 3DS Max's stuff (I sometimes work on those so I can tell).

Guess they just didn't make the full textured icons yet considering the characters are still being worked on and not released yet even on the beta.

Doesn't mean they are legit either though, I'm just making a supposition here.

Probably deserves its own topic but:

I'm in love with Kunkka's sound clips.
On the more negative side, there are too many puns used. In particular, Lich speaks way too much like Mr Freeze - both his voice and lines.


Seeing as I doubt they'll go through the bother of recording 258 new clips (and more, seeing as there are a couple of voices I'm not too fond of) on the whim of one person I think I'll start working on a voice replacement mod to use the old voices.

First, id like to say that the pictures are not even finish. Like look at Brood Mother she looks like its just a unfinished animation design. Than people come on here and say OMG LOOK HOW BAD THEY LOOK. Jesus christ people if you want to play dota 2 than enjoy there creation. If not go play LoL or HoN.

If you look at the style of the pics, clearly see that these aren't fake... Some of them unfinished model renders like broodmother, medusa and naix... and some of them are sketches...
