I always wanna know what hero other players started DOTA with and how it was on that time

I stared Dota with Razor about 4 years ago when razor had Freenzy and Lightening and his ulti was kind of radiance.
First advanced item i learned to buy was Power trades.

the reason i chose Razor was because i Just liked his Appearance.thought he cool.

I started off with DK and always bought him SnY xD
I started of smth like 5 years ago, I can't remember the version but yea like you said razor had frenzy, chain lightning, hp/ms regen passive, aoe dps aura. Alot of heroes were missing like jakiro, dazzle and it may sound funny but every time I hear some one say ''new hero'' I immediatly think about Kunkka, Clock and Puck

LOL.. S&Y was kind of hard for beginning.. u had 2 buy 4 item n 2 recipe.. power trades was just 3 and a recipe ...

i have to admit i played about a year with only mouse till ma friend told me im so dumb 4 doin dat and i have to use keyboard for faster reaction.... xD

I was lucky enough to have a mentor throughout my early stages. I also played WC3 before, so I knew about the hotkeys. Lol

My first hero was the old Razor. I don't think I used to buy items back then though.

My first hero that I played extensively were Sand King, and that includes when his burrow lasted forever; but I started playing more Rylai once his Combo got nerfed.

My first item that I'd learn to buy were Kellen's Dagger, which had almost 0 cooldown, and since Sand King's ult's channeling time were very low, it worked well with him, along with his impale.
I also remember Aegis giving like 10 armor, 11 HP/Sec regen, 30 damage block and _3_ revives!
The game were so insane back then, everything were fucked up.

I remember people playing Rikimaru constantly because his invis wasn't his ult, and were his third skill, and his ult was Death Wards, which did insane damage.

First major hero was Razor{what the coincidences}{6.44 i think so}
I played him because meh Classmates did back then, we thought he was a god in dota back then
first advanced item was the old vanguard, i was so irritated with it when it's on the enemy's inventory

Yeah, I don't know about the hotkeys{or buying myself a boots xD}


off topic: Did anyonehere back then didn't even know about the recipe system and constatly buying recipes even without the needed items? xD

I assume Balanar as I recall the dreadloard skin as one of the first things I remember in DotA. It has to be the first time I played as I remember asking what I was supposed to do. The answer were "stay back and just get XP", which sounded a little dull ^^. I don't know though, it was so long ago =(.

I had a lot of friends who did this.

I was quite confused about why Bloodstone never required a recipe. I thought it was a bug because I couldn't click it.

I remember first time i picked Shadow Fiend (Nevermore) i thought there's something wrong with game cuz his 1st skill takes 3 spot so i restarted my computer.... xD

Razor was also my first serious hero =D Back when he was the ultimate Mjollnir/EoS user. I was would just rock up to team fights, turn on the juice and start raping face with Chain Lighting, ulti-radiance, frenzy, Mjollnir and Ice attack. Ahhh....nostalgia.

I started with Levi, back then it still had this 8 seconds ticking disable buff effect.
It was really comfy, with my power treads and vanguard, i started making 2 RoH ahah XD

Did 40 games with him, and afterwards I only played STR heroes for like 6 months, damn mind formating >_<

My first hero was Yurnero. Back then I thought that he was the strongest hero of all, able to beat every other hero. Then I 1v1'ed my also-noob buddy who was using Naix and I lost badly to him, so my love for Yurnero quickly disappeared lol

At start I was a huge fan of Luna and pudge my fav heroes I had a lot of fun with them.
