And here's a poem NOT IN DARKNESS OVER LIGHT, called "Extinction Vista" on my Facebook page.
Extinction Vista
I clasp the heart of my broken form,
My mind in a sea of shattered smiles.
Eagles and vultures tear at my eyes,
And poisons of all kinds course through my blood.
I look down at the the earth beneath my bare feet,
Walking the death zone of life.
The wind through my hair lacerates my eyes
And its chill seems to tear at my skin.
It howls a familiar tune in my ear,
As the moon regards me with a face of grey stone.
My arms are numb from crawling through life.
My legs ache beneath the weight of existence.
Even though my lungs cry out for air,
My breath comes in short fleeting bursts.
I compare my inside to the terrain around:
Rocky, cold, windswept and harsh.
A part of me says to end it all fast,
On my journey toward the end of the world.
I arrive at my final barren destination,
And I look down at the last place I shall rest.
The cold waters gush through the blackest of rocks,
Roaring a warning of terror and pain.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath,
Reminiscing the fragments my psyche recalls.
A beautiful face, timeless and pure.
A smile that weakens my mind and my soul.
A voice that sings to my heart itself.
Her hand in mine, we walk through the evening.
I hold her for hours on the shores of my dreamland.
She asks if I still love her, and I kiss her in reply.
I return to reality at the edge of the world,
Tears flowing from my eyes like the river beneath.
I drop to my knees and scream out her name.
She appears behind me and helps me to stand,
Embraces me with unimaginable warmth,
Then propels me forward into the chasm of death.
Falling, I look up at her lovely face,
And I suddenly fear the death for which I prayed.
I begin to scream my lungs out in terror,
Fighting for a way to make it back up.
I reach for her hand, now light years away,
And she smiles at me, she smiles at my pain.
Descending toward my crushing death,
My mind only thinks of my dead love for her.
I hope for a quick end to my meaningless life,
And slam into the the cold hell below.
I withdraw from my nightmare and sit up in tears.
My heart still rests in the shadow of her eclipse.
Based on Ryan Seemungal's Shadow of the Eclipse.
UPDATE:
Here's a nice little preview of Spellbinder. Like me on Facebook.
Spellbinder
The sunlight's grace
Falls upon her skin,
A golden gloss emanates
Like nothing else.
Incalculably mesmerised, I seem to be,
In her crystal presence, day after day.
Captured, enchained,
Bound to this inescapable glow.
Her beauty, incomparable;
Divine resplendent charm.
Such lustre cannot be possible,
Yet I see it in her every moment.
Those adorable eyes,
That captivating smile,
Skin as fair and soft as the clouds.
Dark flowing hair,
With a simple tender look.
Creator, you amaze me once more.
She glides amongst
The stars of the sky,
A goddess of mine,
My love, my life.
Flawless, indeed my saviour
From what was never meant to be.
A wish I have for this angel,
This princess of the sun,
My queen by night.
I pray that she sees herself as I see her,
For even as she reads this,
She knows not how perfect a creature she is.
UPDATE:

As you know, my name is GravedamN. I have been writing poetry since only 2009 when I noticed that I had lost my singing voice and, hence, my songs, which I had also started to write around that time, were of little use to me. Being such, I switched from slow music and lyrics composition to poetry.
I write poems both in free verse and metrically. The situation, the inspiration and my state of mind play a key role in determine the state and nature of my poems.
I do not have much credentials, but I have received a lot of positive feedback about my writing from friends, and from Richard Sjunnesson (harsh vocalist / lyricist of The Unguided; formerly of Sonic Syndicate & Faithful Darkness).
My first collection, Darkness Over Light, will be the first collection you feast your eyes on. It contains fifteen (15) poems and this is the official trailer:
Additionally, I have also uploaded a video poem, Impulse.
