I have recently encountered threads and posts with links to websites related to DotA, such as official maps and AI maps.
I wish to inform you that you download maps and other products of unofficial DotA websites at your own risk.
I have decided to provide you with all relevant OFFICIAL DOTA LINKS right here.

Note: This thread has absolutely nothing related to DOTA 2.


Official DotA Website and Forums:
There is only ONE Official DotA Website, PlayDotA.com, containing the latest official DotA updates and the official DotA forums.

The latest DotA map is always readily available at the Official DotA Downloads website.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) maps:
Only one official team is assigned to designing the DotA AI maps. This Official DotA AI map, along with a few trustworthy fan-made maps are posted at the DotA Tools & AI Maps section of PlayDotA.com. However, you need to register a PlayDotA.com account in order to view the section.

If you do not wish to register an account on PlayDotA.com, you may follow the AI map developer's blog. Whenever a new version is released, which is usually one or a few patches behind the latest DotA map, he will post the download links for the various languages. Additionally, the blog is used to keep fans up-to-date with the status of the current AI map development.
