It looks pretty awesome but I think Dota 2 will be a lot closer to Dota 1 (duh) and that makes it better for me. I like pretty much all Blizzard games and I think they're not gonna make a mistake by making this sc2 mod, but personally I don't think I'll pay to play it.

Blizzard Dota for me might be just what i'm looking for. Fast games, iconic Blizzard heroes, unique ideas that push the genre forward.

At the latest Blizzcon they said that you will be able to play Blizzard DOTA even with the free version of startcraft and that players with Starcraft 2 or with the expansion (when it comes out), will get the full game/mod. They said that they want everybody to be able to play the game.

Don't get me wrong, i'm a Blizzard fan, and for me Blizzard iconic characters is what attracts me more to that game and I really can't wait to play it.

If you don't know what i'm talking about watch this video from the latest Blizzcon.

When Dota 2 comes out, I will definitely buy it (as I hope it will require you to buy the game) but i'm also looking forward to Blizzard DOTA as well.

So for me, I can't choose between the two because I haven't played any of them right now but I have high expectations for Blizzard DOTA, which runs on SC2 engine. BD is more of an evolution of LoL than Dota to my eyes, which is a good thing. At least for me.

Honestly I'd rather Blizzard DOTA be an over popular game and people quit WoW for it. Will save many lives.

This, I agree so much. Speaking as a player who plays AoS (aka MOBA) games competitively - I can honestly say that I've been really disappointed with DotA 2. I loved DotA Allstars, but as creative as Icefrog was, DotA Allstars had a lot of issues for competitive play. This biggest of which was how often and how many heroes and items there were. The game was complex in a lot of ways that weren't good.

When I heard that DotA two was being developed by Icefrog and Valve, I got really excited. Finally, a strong, refined, elegent implementation of the genre I loved that improved upon the original formula! But no... Instead DotA 2 is just a direct port of the Allstars.

Blizzard DotA looks to refine the AoS genre in really good ways for a competative player. I still don't know if they'll succeed, but what I've read about it so far sounds like they're making all the right decisions: A more reasonable number of items and heroes; slower updates to give the competitive community more time to discover the metagame; quicker matches; more aggressive early games; heroes dedicated to pushing; the removal of last hitting and denying; stronger importance on territorial control. For anyone curious, this article does a good job of explaining how Blizzard DotA is innovating the AoS genre: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/7 ... aft-2-mod/

All in all, I think Blizzard DotA might turn out to be what I thought DotA 2 was going to be. A step forward in the genre, not just a simple rehash of the old.

Why should Dota 2 be innovative when instead other games can be? Dota 2 should be what Dota always should have been like.

I really look forward to BlizzDOTA, don't get me wrong =).
