New Mastery Tree

Postby TJgamer » 12 Nov 2011, 10:23

At last, Riot Games is revamping the Masteries.
I actually like this new fashion. It really gives us more variety of what we should use and what roles we will perform.
Check it out here.

Also, I am so relieved to see that I don't need to spend a large amount of points just to amp up a certain summoner spell.

Certainly LoL´s masteries needed a change, this change may be for good but still I would have prefered something like totally new mastery trees. And, not just 3, more like 5-6 so you could addapt better to a certain role.

Also, I wish they include new summoner spells which could only be unlocked at the end of each mastery tree (something like WoW more or less). That would bring more variety and strategy to the game...

I somewhat agree with the latter. That would be interesting, but it could lead to several problems too.

And I disagree with the first statement. There is only so much you can affect in masteries (and runes too). Offense, Defense, and Utility. Those three sound fine to me. More trees would just further complicate things.

I think they can add a lot of things to masteries trees, just think for example stuff like: "your wards will last 4/8/12/16 seconds more"; "you gain 0,1/0,3/0,5 extra gold per minion killed"...many stuff like that can be added without creating a big change inside the game. Think about spell critics/healing critics...may sound far away but can be easily added...game can be improved still a lot.

But more than masteries I think increasing the number of active items is a must-do thing. Specially in LoL that many champions have active-pasive spells, that along with a decent amount of active-pasive items can offer many options in battles...
